Schedule: Flexible, Part-Time (20 hours per week estimate).

Duration: Annual Appointment, Renewed Based on Performance

Compensation: Equity stake during start-up.

Lead Vocalist Position - Christian Music Ministry

 

About Us

We are a collaborative of passionate Christ followers dedicated to spreading God's message through diverse musical expressions. Our mission is to build stronger connections to God and foster meaningful relationships within the Christian community, with a special focus on college campus ministry.

 

Position Overview

We're seeking an exceptionally talented vocalist who can authentically perform and minister across multiple musical genres. This role combines musical excellence with a heart for ministry, focusing on campus outreach and discipleship through music.

 

Key Responsibilities

* Lead worship and perform original compositions across various venues, demonstrating versatility in genres including R&B, Soul, Gospel, Afrobeat, Pop, and Country while maintaining a Christ-centered message and ministry focus

* Collaborate with other musicians in writing and arranging original compositions that speak to contemporary audiences while conveying Biblical truths and spiritual insights

* Develop and maintain relationships with campus ministries and venue coordinators to establish regular performance opportunities at local colleges and universities

* Actively participate in outreach events and minister to college students through music and personal connection, helping to build a bridge between contemporary culture and Christian faith

* Identify and recruit talented musicians who share our vision for ministry and can contribute to our musical collective's growth and impact

* Contribute to arrangement and production decisions for original compositions and ministry materials

 

Required Qualifications

* Demonstrated vocal proficiency across multiple genres (R&B, Soul, Gospel, Afrobeat, Pop, and Country)

* Strong Christian faith and ability to articulate personal testimony

* Experience in leading worship or performing in Christian contexts

* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to connect with college-age individuals

* Strong collaborative spirit and ability to work within a team ministry setting

* Flexible schedule to accommodate various performance times and ministry opportunities

 

Preferred Qualifications

* Background in music theory and composition

* Experience in campus ministry or youth outreach

* Network within the local music community

* Understanding of music production and arrangement

* Experience in vocal instruction or mentoring other musicians

 

Personal Characteristics

* Deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and commitment to spiritual growth

* Heart for ministry and discipleship, especially among young adults

* Ability to relate to diverse audiences while maintaining Biblical integrity

* Strong work ethic and reliability

* Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor

 

Additional Information

* Position requires local travel to various campus venues

* Evening and weekend availability necessary for performances and events

* Must be comfortable working in both secular and religious settings while maintaining Christian witness

* Commitment to regular prayer and devotional time with the ministry team
