Position Overview

Join Voice Up Publishing as a Multicultural Dance Arts Intern, creating connections through movement and cultural expression. This innovative role focuses on researching, documenting, and sharing diverse dance traditions while developing programs that unite communities through the universal language of dance. You'll work to preserve cultural heritage while creating contemporary bridges between different dance traditions.

 

Key Responsibilities

- Research and document traditional dance styles from various cultures

- Create educational content about different dance traditions

- Develop cross-cultural dance programs and initiatives

- Build connections with cultural dance communities

- Design dance-based community engagement projects

- Participate in weekly Saturday afternoon collaborative sessions with our nationwide team of student leaders

- Document dance traditions and their cultural significance

- Create resources for cultural dance preservation

 

Required Qualifications

- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university

- Strong background in multiple dance traditions

- Cultural sensitivity and appreciation

- Excellent documentation and research skills

- Understanding of movement education

- Strong communication abilities

- Video creation/editing capabilities

- Interest in cultural preservation

 

Position Details

- 100% remote position with flexible scheduling

- Part-time commitment (hours adjustable to academic schedule)

- Unpaid position eligible for academic credit (subject to university approval)

- Duration: One academic semester
